Amateur radio expedition to the plast (scout) camp-museum  “Sokil” will be held on Sat, March 26.

Plast have their famous camp-museum Sokil (Falcon) being opened in the Carpathian mountains, Gorgany range, near Ivano-Frankivsk. There were 200 Plast members from Ukraine, Canada, USA, Australia and other countries.

In early 1920th land for the camp was presented to Plast by the Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytskyi, the Head of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Sokil camp was opened in 1926 and after that it has always been the most famous home of Plast. In Soviet days Plast organization was forbiden, and in 1980th Ukrainian scouts renewed their activities. Due to high importance of Sokil camp in upbringing of Ukrainian youth, the camp was recognized as the Ukraine’s Cultural Heritage Memorial.[1]
